Clinical Reference Laboratory staffs full-time Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA & QC) officers whose purpose is to ensure the accuracy of the testing equipment and their results. CRL:

  • Maintains licensing certifications
  • Maintains and calibrates instruments
  • Incorporates 10% open controls and 1% blind controls

Quality Assurance Programs

Quality Assurance consists of a system whereby the laboratory can assure clients that the laboratory is generating data of proven and known quality.

Quality Assurance depends primarily on documentation to

  • Demonstrate that Quality Control operations are carried out.
  • Assure that the data reported represents analyses on the sample as submitted.
  • Assure traceability of reported data, e.g., the analyst who ran the test, the method used, the raw data collected, the status of the quality control system, etc.
