Minimum Volume: | A ¼” punched DBS spot is required for each cotinine sample |
Rejection Criteria: | • Improper blood placement • Contaminated sample- blood smeared across the collection card • Over-collected sample- Too much blood on card causing sample to cake • Quantity not sufficient; QNS in LIS with a M481 comment • NSA–If sample eluate is colorless, punch another DBS and repeat the elution. If the second attempt fails then note NSA with an M476 message “DBS will not elute” should be made in LIS. |
Collection Instructions: | Follow instructions provided with the ADx100 collection kit. 1. Drop 4-6 large rounded drops of blood in to the collection window of the ADX-100 card. 2. Blood will be absorbed into window and will begin to flow across the filter paper. 3. Do not touch finger to the card. |
